Gaby Preston started her real estate career as a middle school English teacher. That may sound like a paradox, but those early years of negotiating with adolescents about nearly everything helped formed the skills to help clients achieve their real estate goals. In the classroom, she observed the challenges schools face to educate students in an environment of shrinking budgets, growing class sizes and strained resources. In 2002 she began her San Diego real estate career as a New Home Counselor for SeaCountry Homes. Gaby achieved top sales at three luxury new home neighborhoods in Carmel Valley, Del Mar and Valley Center and earned a coveted MAME Award. Next, she developed sales and marketing programs for builder and developer clients as Residential Marketing Strategist at ad agency Interactivate, Inc. Achieving her California Real Estate Broker's license in 2007, Gaby paired with Realtor Shannon King to launch Schoolhouse Realty in 2008. Together with Angela Holt, they bring a desire to serve clients and improve education to an innovative, cause-driven, real estate firm.

Angela Holt has a degree in Special Education, but her career path soon led to new home sales, where she eventually rose to Director of Sales & Marketing for SeaCountry Homes. In this position, she interacted with architects, interior designers, advertising and public relations personnel, as well as prospective homebuyers throughout the county. She relates well to homebuyers and homesellers, having purchased, renovated and sold personal and investment properties herself over more than a decade as a licensed Realtor.

Shannon King brings energy and experience to Schoolhouse Realty. After college, she taught elementary school but the rewards of buying and selling her own home led to a real estate career. Since becoming a licensed Realtor in 2000, Shannon has had the opportunity to help over 500 families fulfill their dream of home ownership. At the age of 33, Shannon has many awards and appointments to attest to her success as a Realtor. In 2007 the president of The National Association of Realtors (NAR) appointed Shannon to a two year term on the Strategic Planning Committee to represent the perspective of younger consumers and REALTORS. In 2008 Shannon was asked to sit on the inaugural Advisory Board for YPN, Young Professionals Network- NAR. In June 2005 Shannon received the annual "30 under 30" award highlighting successful young agents. Shannon is a National Speaker for NAR at conferences.
